digital is semi-idiot proof. auto ranging, plug and play,
BUT
when dealing with RF voltages, you need analog.
when looking for slight voltage changes, you need analog
when needing a center tune milliamp meter, you need analog
both meters have thier place. I use Fluke hand held DMM as well as Beckman bench DVV but I still use Tripp 310 hand held and my old trusty RCA Sr VoltOhmist VTVM.
